Hi, I’m Yoshiko – born and raised in Tokyo, and living in New York for over 30 years, and forever in love with bringing the authentic flavors of Japan to busy home kitchens!

Japanese food is loved all over the world, but many people still wonder how to adapt recipes when certain ingredients are unfamiliar or aren’t readily available. That’s where I come in! Living in New York, I know what you can find fresh locally, and also what are the best substitutes to use to make our authentic Japanese umami!

I have written a monthly food column for a Japanese magazine for over 7 years, sharing my recipes and many fun culinary stories from this great city. I also host numerous social dining events, where friends and NY foodies enjoy eating and chatting around my table.

Guests admire how much passion and effort I devote to find great quality ingredients that create the great taste of my dishes, and how healthy they are. People also appreciate the aesthetic sense of the look of my cuisine, inspired by my long career as a journalist in the New York fashion industry.
